Flutter Entertainment to delist from London Stock Exchange in August
Flutter Entertainment, the gambling group that owns Paddy Power and Betfair, announced it will cancel its London Stock Exchange listing on 3 August, citing low trading activity and high costs. The company, valued at £15bn, moved its primary listing from London to New York in 2024 following growth in its US FanDuel operation and looser online betting restrictions in several states. Flutter told shareholders in May it would review its London position, and on Friday stated the delisting is in the best interests of the company and shareholders. The decision adds to a trend of high-profile exits from London’s stock market, including CRH and Wise, as companies increasingly turn to the US for higher valuations and executive pay. Flutter, operationally headquartered in New York, employs about 28,500 people globally. Its London shares have lost about half their value in the year to date amid concerns that US prediction markets like Kalshi could disrupt traditional betting.
