US agricultural exports barely exceed Brazil’s, report says
According to a report from the Financial Times, the United States exported $171 billion of agricultural goods last year, just $2 billion more than Brazil's export total. Many analysts cited in the report say Brazil has benefited from trade disruption caused by tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. US exports have been falling while Brazil's have been rising, with Brazilian agricultural exports increasing 6 percent in the first half of this year to a new record of $87 billion. The report suggests that 2026 could be the year America loses its agricultural ascendancy.
