In an interview on NPR, Greta Caruso and Fanny Singer, authors of the Substack newsletter The Green Spoon, discussed strategies for getting children to eat summer produce. The two friends, who both had children in 2022, started the newsletter after finding it difficult to feed their own kids despite their professional cooking backgrounds. They noted that many parents they spoke to expressed guilt and shame about what they feed their children. Caruso and Singer suggested offering a crudités platter with dips before dinner to reduce pressure. They also recommended a recipe for "polenta pizza" made with fresh corn, which they described as one of the most popular recipes on their Substack. Singer stated that it can take up to 14 or 18 exposures to an ingredient before a child may decide they like it.

Caruso suggested putting out a crudités platter with dips before dinner to take pressure off.
Caruso described a "polenta pizza" recipe using fresh corn, Parmesan, butter, salt, tomato paste, cannellini beans, basil, and mozzarella.
