Australian police have released bodycam footage showing one of the last attempts to get Bradley Murdoch to reveal the location of Peter Falconio’s body, on the 25th anniversary of his murder. Falconio, who was from Huddersfield, was shot dead on a remote highway near Barrow Creek in the Northern Territory in July 2001 while traveling with his girlfriend Joanne Lees. Lees was kidnapped by Murdoch but escaped by hiding in outback scrub for several hours before waving down two men driving a truck. In the video, filmed in June 2025, a police officer asks Murdoch to consider where Falconio’s body might be if Falconio were his son. Murdoch died the following month while serving a life sentence for the murder of the 28-year-old.
