Olivia Wilde Says Pamela Anderson Helped Her Through ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Drama
Olivia Wilde told the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that Pamela Anderson helped her through the release of her 2022 film "Don't Worry Darling," which was plagued with rumors of disarray in Wilde's personal and professional life. Wilde said she reached out to Anderson after seeing the documentary "Pamela, A Love Story," telling Anderson she was a big fan. Anderson, who had her own share of scandals throughout her career, was aware of some of what Wilde was going through and advised her that "the most rebellious thing you can do is stay soft." Wilde recalled wanting to publicly deny untrue rumors but was told that would not help. She said staying quiet was difficult because she wanted to promote the film on behalf of her cast and crew, who worked through the Covid pandemic to make the movie. Wilde added that the "pummeling" she took felt "insanely disproportionate."
