NowThis, a digital-first social news outlet targeting Gen Z audiences, has hired producer Georgie Guinane as head of studio for its Los Angeles location. Guinane will oversee the company’s slate of original digital series and report directly to editor in chief Michael Vito Valentino. She joins from Flighthouse Media, where she spent five years as director of content, overseeing creative vision and strategy for owned-and-operated channels and branded integration content. Earlier in her career, she worked as a senior producer at Jukin Media and as a producer and writer for Clevver Media. Valentino stated that Guinane’s combination of editorial instinct, relationship-building, and operational know-how makes her the right fit for the role. Guinane said she looks forward to building original formats and franchises that bring together entertainment, talent, and internet culture. NowThis, based in New York City, launched in 2012 and was spun off from Vox Media in 2023 through a deal with the Accelerate Change not-for-profit advocacy network.
