Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Debuts at Comic-Con, Shows Doctor Doom Raising Sentinel Army

8 reported

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige surprised San Diego Comic-Con attendees with exclusive footage of "Avengers: Doomsday," shown only to fans inside Hall H, according to Variety. The trailer depicts Victor Von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., sitting on a throne as Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm narrates his backstory, describing him as broken and noting that everything he loved was taken from him. The footage includes quick shots of a sprawling cast, including Thor, Captain America, Black Panther, Shang-Chi, Loki, Cyclops, Magneto, and Gambit, as well as a destroyed New York City reduced to rubble. Doom is shown confronting Thor, catching his hammer and throwing it aside before using magic to raise an army of Sentinel robots from the ground. The film is expected to be a massive team-up between the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and more Marvel stars. The countdown to "Doomsday" began last December with four teaser trailers featuring the return of Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, the Fantastic Four meeting Black Panther, and the MCU debut of Fox's past X-Men team. The cast is headlined by Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, along with Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and Fox's X-Men cast members.
