Marvel Casts Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider, David Jonsson as Black Panther

Marvel Studios announced two major casting choices at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, according to a report from IndieWire. Ryan Gosling is set to play Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while David Jonsson will take on the role of Black Panther. Both characters are expected to lead releases in 2028. Jonsson will play the adult Toussaint, also known as T’Challa II, the son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, introduced at the end of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Ryan Coogler, who will return to direct “Black Panther 3,” unveiled Jonsson’s casting alongside Letitia Wright and Winston Duke at the convention. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige tapped Gosling for the Ghost Rider role. The article notes that Gosling dropped out of a 2027 project for theDaniels in April, which may be related to this casting.
