Berlin-based sales company M-Appeal has completed a series of international deals at the Cannes Film Market for three films: Michiel van Erp’s “Downtown,” Joaquín del Paso’s “The Garden We Dreamed,” and Muriel d’Ansembourg’s “Truly Naked.” The deals were reported exclusively by Variety. “Downtown,” a Dutch drama set between 1980s Amsterdam and the present day, sold to Dark Star Pictures for North America and Salzgeber for Germany and Austria. “The Garden We Dreamed,” which premiered at Berlinale Panorama, sold to Arsenal for Germany and Austria, Falcon for Indonesia, and Dexin Film for several Balkan countries. “Truly Naked,” which premiered at Berlinale Perspectives, sold to Wanted Cinema for Italy and Cinobo for Poland and Greece, building on earlier sales to multiple territories including North America and Scandinavia.
