Film producer Alan Latham’s 50 firms struck off UK companies register
A prolific film producer, Alan Latham, has had 50 of his production businesses forcibly removed from the UK's companies register, according to data compiled by the film workers' union Bectu. The compulsory strike-offs leave workers unable to chase unpaid fees, as once a company is removed from the register there is no entity for creditors to make claims against. Film workers have told the Guardian they have been unable to collect debts owed by Latham's former businesses, including City Girls Productions and RK Film Productions, which were struck off in 2024 and 2025 respectively. One crew member said she was among young film workers who were not fully paid, stating they were "exploited." A second supplier said his business was owed thousands of pounds and had to write the debt off. The Bectu analysis shows the businesses were late filing annual accounts or confirmation statements on more than 400 occasions. Latham remains a director of about another 50 active companies and is credited as a producer on 81 releases dating back to 1996.
