Beach volleyball legend Sinjin Smith supports Spencer Pratt for LA mayor

Hall of Fame beach volleyball player Christopher ‘Sinjin’ Smith, a Los Angeles native, has expressed support for Spencer Pratt’s mayoral campaign, saying Pratt is resonating with voters by speaking common-sense truths about the city’s problems. Smith criticized Mayor Karen Bass’s handling of the Palisades wildfire and other issues, stating that Bass is a “very nice lady” but may not be willing or capable of doing the hard work needed to help residents. Smith described Pratt as an outsider who wants to disrupt the institutional chaos around homelessness, fraud, and crime. Pratt is running in a mayoral primary against Bass and city council member Nithya Raman. If no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote, the top two will advance to the November general election. Smith noted that while Santa Monica does not vote in the LA mayor race, the winner’s policies will affect all of Los Angeles County.
