UTA Signs Barry Levinson for Representation
United Talent Agency (UTA) has signed Oscar, Emmy, DGA, and WGA-winning writer and director Barry Levinson for representation in all areas, Deadline reports. Levinson, a six-time Oscar nominee who won for Rain Man, counts films such as Good Morning, Vietnam, Bugsy, The Natural, Avalon, and Diner among his feature canon. Last year, he directed and produced The Alto Knights starring Robert DeNiro and executive produced the Emmy-nominated limited series Dopesick. His television credits include executive producer roles on Showtime’s City on a Hill, NBC’s Shades of Blue, and HBO’s Oz. Levinson continues to produce through his Baltimore Pictures banner alongside Jason Sosnoff and Maura Mazurowski. He first gained recognition as a writer, earning Emmy Awards for The Carol Burnett Show and co-writing Silent Movie and High Anxiety with Mel Brooks. He studied at American University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue comedy, writing, and directing.
