TV Time founder builds Bingers app as replacement for shutting down tracker

8 reported

TV Time, a TV and movie-tracking app set to shut down, has prompted more than 25,000 users to petition against its closure. One of the app’s original founders, Antonio Pinto, says he is creating a new app called Bingers to rebuild TV Time’s best features and address issues that bothered him over the years. Pinto sold his original app, then called TVShow Time, to Whipclip (now Whip Media) in 2016. When he learned the app was being wound down as Whip Media shifted focus to AI, Pinto said he felt sad and decided to build a new home for the TV Time community. The new app will address performance issues and high server costs, which Pinto claims led to the shutdown, with a premium subscription covering only about 10% of expenses. Bingers will be available on the App Store and Google Play by the end of July 2026, and users can already import their TV Time archives through the Bingers website.
