Readers share soap dispenser frustrations and a possible fix
4 reported
Two readers have written to The Guardian in response to a column by Adrian Chiles about pump-action soap dispensers. Bridget Spencer of Sutton, London, reports that she has discovered the dispensers are often simply tightened too much during manufacturing. She describes a method of removing the pump and gripping the part inside the bottle with a tool such as a nutcracker to loosen it. Christopher Holker of London adds that even when the mechanism works, the small hole quickly becomes clogged, causing an unpredictable jet of soap to miss his hands.
