Peabody Awards Feature Political Speeches by Kimmel, Gilroy

The 86th Peabody Awards ceremony on Sunday night featured political remarks from several winners. “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host Jimmy Kimmel thanked President Donald Trump with nicknames including “Pumpkin McPornhumper” and noted that he was suspended by ABC after FCC threats. “Andor” creator Tony Gilroy urged the crowd to fight against fascism, saying “fuck the empire.” Mo Amer hosted the event at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, noting the heavy subject matter including war crimes in Gaza.
