Mediawan and BYD Launch Special ‘Miraculous Chibi’ Episode Featuring Electric Vehicle

Mediawan and BYD have unveiled the first project from their recent partnership: a special episode of the “Miraculous Chibi” series. The episode, titled “Watt a Dream Date!,” features BYD’s new electric vehicle, the BYD Dolphin Surf, and launches worldwide on YouTube on Tuesday. BYD has surpassed Tesla as the world’s top electric car company, and Mediawan is a European powerhouse co-founded by Pierre-Antoine Capton with a portfolio of over 100 companies. The special episode is part of the globally popular “Miraculous” franchise, which spans six seasons with a seventh in production, as well as spin-offs and a feature film. According to Mediawan, the new 52-episode season of “Miraculous Chibi,” which debuted in December 2025, has generated over 350 million YouTube views and a 132% year-over-year viewership increase. In the episode, character Marinette uses the BYD Dolphin Surf as she races across Paris to make a date with Adrien. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is believed to involve a cash injection north of €15 million. As part of the alliance, BYD vehicles will appear in future Mediawan productions, including the upcoming “Miraculous” theatrical feature film and original formats inspired by the BYD brand.
