Josh Kerr, who recently broke the men's mile world record, has stated that representing Scotland in the Commonwealth Games has been a childhood dream. The 28-year-old will compete in the reinstated mile event on 1 August at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, a venue where he has raced since his youth. Kerr described being overlooked for the 2018 Gold Coast Games as a major disappointment and finished last in the 1500m at the 2022 Birmingham Games. He now views the Glasgow event as a chance for redemption and to win gold in front of a home crowd. Kerr, who trains in New Mexico, emphasized that being part of Team Scotland remains a priority for him.
