Ireland beat West Indies by one run in dramatic rain-hit T20I
Ireland defeated West Indies by one run on the DLS method in a rain-affected T20 tri-series match at Clontarf on Monday. The home side followed up Sunday’s win over Pakistan by securing their first T20 victory against West Indies. Captain Orla Prendergast scored an unbeaten 71 runs off 46 balls on her birthday, adding a 57-run partnership with Rebecca Stokell and a 34-run stand with Louise Little. Prendergast also took two wickets as West Indies posted 141-8 off 20 overs, with Jannillea Glasgow top-scoring on 36. Ireland were 99-5 off 14.1 overs when rain interrupted, and needed one more run to pass the DLS target. Little edged the final ball for four just before the rain became too heavy to continue, securing the win by one run. Ava Canning finished with figures of 2-11 for Ireland.
