Asa Butterfield, Jonny Lee Miller and Christine Tremarco have joined the cast of the six-part drama series “Hamburg Days,” which focuses on the Beatles’ formative years in Hamburg, Germany. The show is created by showrunner Christian Schwochow and head writer Jamie Carragher, and is inspired by German artist Klaus Voormann’s autobiography. Butterfield will play Beatles manager Brian Epstein, Miller will portray Jim McCartney, and Tremarco will play John Lennon’s guardian Aunt Mimi. The series is set in the early 1960s in Hamburg’s St. Pauli red-light district, where a young rock ’n’ roll band from Liverpool meets artists Voormann and Kirchherr. AGC International is handling worldwide sales outside the U.K. and Germany, where the BBC and ZDF will screen the series respectively. Production is supported by several German film funds, and filming will take place in Hamburg, Munich and Liverpool.
