Artemis II crew splashes down after moon flyby, first since Apollo 17

The Artemis II mission concluded Friday night with the splashdown of the Orion space capsule in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. All four astronauts aboard were reported in good health. The crew included Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Christina Koch of NASA, as well as Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency. They have become the first humans to travel to the moon and return to Earth safely since the Apollo 17 mission in December 1972. The splashdown was captured on video.
