Ex-UFC champion Andrade working as delivery driver
Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade has stated she is working as a delivery driver to earn extra money while recovering from an injury. The 34-year-old Brazilian has not competed since losing to Loopy Godinez last August, when she injured a shoulder. Andrade has fought 30 times in the UFC since her debut in 2013, winning 17 of her fights. She said on the Brazilian MMA podcast Direto de Vegas that she delivers meals and other items through an app. Andrade also mentioned she has started a landscaping project at a friend’s house, including removing rocks, putting down grass, and painting fences, as a potential additional income source. In 2018, she said she sold her UFC clothes, backpack, and gloves due to sponsorship struggles, but added she was “paid really well” in the promotion. In 2023, she said she fought five times to pay for her divorce, and the following year she accused former coach Gilliard Parana of withholding money from her, which Parana denied.
