According to a Variety interview with director Sébastien Vaniček, the film “Evil Dead Burn” features extensive practical effects, including real fire on set, and two post-credits scenes. Vaniček stated that everything that could be done practically was done practically, with the only exception being holes in faces, which required makeup with green areas. The film, which is loosely connected to 2023’s “Evil Dead Rise” and the 2013 reboot, follows a family after Will (George Pullar) dies in a car accident, with his wife Alice (Souheila Yacoub) grieving as Deadites take over their souls. Vaniček, whose previous film was the French spider horror “Infested,” said he had creative freedom from producer Sam Raimi and Ghost House Pictures. The director noted that the post-credits scene features Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), a character from “Evil Dead Rise,” though he said he does not know what the studio plans for the franchise’s future.
