According to the Wired podcast "Uncanny Valley," Meta's newly formed AI unit is experiencing significant employee dissatisfaction. The podcast hosts discussed a meltdown at the company, citing low morale and dysfunction within Meta's applied AI engineering unit. They reported that during an employee-only meeting, a worker interrupted to say they were "being the company's bitch" and asked leaders to tell a specific Meta AI executive, "Tell him he's a piece of shit." The hosts said they heard a recording of this incident. The podcast also covered a leak of more than 200 names from an invite-only group cofounded by billionaire tech founder Peter Thiel, and former cryptocurrency founder Sam Bankman-Fried seeking a pardon from the Trump administration.
