Match survey finds 47% of US singles negative on AI in dating

8 reported

Match Group, which owns Tinder, Hinge, and OkCupid, surveyed 1,000 U.S. singles aged 18 to 39 about AI in dating. The survey found that 47% of singles have a negative view of AI’s use in romantic contexts. About 40% of singles said they would refuse to date someone who uses an AI companion app, rising to 51% among women ages 18 to 24. However, only 12% of 18- to 24-year-olds reported using a companion app in the last three months, and about a third of those users sought genuine connections with chatbots. Despite negative views, 64% of respondents said they could see how AI might help in their dating journey. Match wrote in a blog post that singles want AI for help with hard parts but want human connection left alone.
