Gas prices rise 50% since U.S.-Israel war with Iran began

According to data from motor club AAA, the national average gas price in the United States has reached nearly $4.50 per gallon, a 50% increase since the U.S. and Israel launched the war against Iran. Prices have risen more than one dollar since the initial attack. Six states — Alaska, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon and Washington — are near $5 per gallon, while California has surpassed $6, the highest in the nation. States in the middle of the country are paying the least. Oil prices spiked and then fluctuated as a ceasefire was announced and later extended. Experts had predicted that gas prices could start declining in April, but after several weeks of gradual decline, prices have risen to new highs. NBC News is tracking these prices daily at national, state and county levels.
