BBC pundit Micah Richards’ father dies before World Cup broadcast
BBC football pundit Micah Richards has paid tribute to his father Lincoln, who died shortly before Richards went on air for England's World Cup semi-final defeat by Argentina. Richards, a former England right-back, was one of the experts on BBC One for the coverage of the Three Lions' 2-1 loss. In an Instagram post, Richards described the death as unexpected and said his father "was my greatest fan" who "barely missed a game my entire life." Richards, 38, won 13 caps for England and played for Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Fiorentina. He stated that his father would have wanted the show to go on, and it did.
