Ecclestone breaks England wicket record in first women’s Test at Lord’s
Sophie Ecclestone became England's leading wicket-taker across all three formats during the first women's Test at Lord's, surpassing Katherine Sciver-Brunt's 335 wickets. Ecclestone's 3-68 took her to 336 wickets, placing her third on the all-time list behind India's Deepti Sharma and Jhulan Goswami. The milestone came in the 73rd over when she dismissed Sayali Satghare. England bowled India out for 285 and closed the day at 21-1 after losing Tammy Beaumont. The England and Wales Cricket Board also honored former players from the amateur era, including Enid Bakewell and Anya Shrubsole, who rang the bell before play. Ecclestone, who debuted in 2016, called it a "once in a lifetime day." The Test came five days after England lost the Women's T20 World Cup final to Australia.
