Ryanair passenger partially sucked out of shattered window in mid-air
A passenger on a Ryanair flight from Greece was reportedly almost sucked out of a window after it shattered in mid-air. The man, described as a 61-year-old Serbian, was lifted out of his seat into the plane’s slipstream and hung headfirst out of the window after an engine failure caused parts to smash the acrylic window. He was saved from being completely sucked out because his wife held him by the legs, according to local reports. The incident occurred on Ryanair flight FR1879, operated by subsidiary Malta Air, which was scheduled to fly from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, on Friday. The aircraft returned to Thessaloniki shortly after takeoff, and one passenger requested and received medical assistance on the ground. A Ryanair spokesperson stated that a replacement aircraft departed at 9.53am local time to bring passengers to Memmingen.
