Google expands free personalized AI image generation to US users
Google announced on Monday that its Gemini app now offers personalized Nano Banana-powered image generation to a broader audience, making the feature free for all eligible users in the United States. Previously, this capability was limited to Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers. The feature, part of Gemini’s Personal Intelligence functionality, was initially announced in April and allows users to create images reflecting their unique interests without specifying them in prompts. Gemini uses data from connected Google accounts, including Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search, to generate images. Users can also have Gemini pull actual images from Google Photos, eliminating the need to manually upload photos. The Personal Intelligence feature is opt-in, and users can disable it via a toggle in the Tools menu. Google first rolled out Personal Intelligence widely to US users in March and recently expanded it to users in India and Japan.
