The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) is preparing for its 60th edition, which also marks the festival's 80th year of existence. Artistic director Karel Och emphasized that selecting the festival lineup is a team effort, involving discussions among a group of strong individuals. The programming team includes members ranging in age from under 30 to Och, who is 52. For the first time in the festival's 80-year history, a foreign-language-speaking member, Italian programmer Lorenzo Esposito, has been added to the programming committee as a daily collaborator. The team of seven, six of whom are Czech, now communicates in English, including via a WhatsApp group. Key members of the programming team include Anna Kořínek, Sandra Hezinová, Vojtěch Kočárník, and Petra Vočadlová, each with specific regional focuses and responsibilities.
