Pixar presented two new theatrical shorts at the Annecy Festival, according to a report from Variety. The first, "Loving Dory," features the return of characters Nemo and Dory, with Dory falling in love with a plastic bag. Director Lou Hamou-Lhadj said the short is "a new chapter in Dory's story, because she allows us to have fun." The second short, "Gatto," is directed by Enrico Casarosa, who also directed "Luca." It follows a black cat named Nero who is on his own in Venice and running away from a cat mob boss. Casarosa described the film's setting as "a very immersive, painterly look" inspired by the idea of "walking into a Van Gogh painting." The story involves Nero meeting a cat named Rocco who rules the feline underbelly and collects cat art, leading Nero into a life of theft before he seeks to escape. The film is voiced by Mark Ruffalo and Laurence Fishburne, with Casarosa voicing a pigeon named Saverio.
